The White Sturgeon is one of the largest fresh water fish

They are
known
for their acrobatic leaps and line stripping runs of more than
a quarter mile. These prehistoric fish take a few hundred years
to grow. Fishermen work with the Department of Oceans and Fisheries
to tag these fish, since they were nearly extinct. Ever year,
Fraser Valley seems to be home to more and more of these huge
fish . They
can grow
to be larger than 10
feet. The best time to catch a fishing sturgeon in the Fraser
Valley is from March 1 to December 15.
Fraser Valley Trout and Char Fishing

and dolly Varden char. British Columbia Steelhead are one of
the worlds most sought after game fish because of their beauty
and quality of flight. The best time to fish for Steelhead
is from January to April, and July through August. Cutthroat
trout are the dominant species. They run from October to April.
Fraser Valley Salmon Fishing
Sport anglers around the world prefer Fraser River fishing
for its famous runs of pacific Salmon. Sockeye salmon are excellent
fighters and are best fished for during July and August. The
king of salmon, called the Chinook or Spring salmon, may grow
to over 60 lbs. Fraser River fishing delivers an abundance
of Chinook salmon. Besides Fraser Valley fishing you may try
to angle in the Chehalis, the Chilliwack and Vedder Rivers.
Coho salmon fishing is a sportsman’s dream. During the
fall the rivers are filled with huge runs of the Coho salmon.
At this time of the year the Chum salmon are plentiful, though
most of the anglers prefer to catch the Coho salmon. From August
to October, most plentiful in September, and only on odd years
the pacific Pink salmon runs. They are an aggressive biter,
can be readily taken on the fly as well by other methods. The
pink salmon may range in weight up to 7 pounds.
